Margaret Bean Davis Memorial Piano Competition

Margaret Bean Davis

Our local piano competition is named in honor of Margaret Bean Davis, a wonderful musician and composer who was a long-time supporter of music in Marin County. Each year talented young pianists compete before a panel of three distinguished judges in six levels: Intermediate A, B, C, and D, and Advanced A and B. Each pianist who places in the competition will later perform in the MBD Piano Competition Winners Recital, which takes place the weekend following the competition.

2024 MBD Competition

The 2024 Margaret Bean Davis Memorial Piano Competition will take place on Sunday April 21, 2024 at First Presbyterian San Anselmo.

2024 Competition Rules and Repertoire List

Please read the newly updated competition rules before applying. Each applicant is required to perform two selections from contrasting periods. Generally, one selection must come from the MBD Repertoire List.
